David Paul Benson
My older brother - David Paul Benson - WHS class of 56, died December 27, 2003. He was diagnosed
with small cell cancer in October of 03 and died two months later.
I remember a few of his buddies: Jay Berwald, Pudge Bass, Bud Miller.
These guys were about 8-9 years older than me. However, my brother always
took me under his wing and made me feel important when I met his close
buddies.
Dave worked for TWA (now American Airlines) as a lead mechanic for 40
years. He retired in October of 2003. He is the father of 2 wonderful
kids (hardly kids anymore), and was the very proud grandpa of four kids.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and a wonderful sense of who he was.
He was always more comfortable in work boots, jeans, and a sweatshirt
than anything else. He touched a lot of lives.
