Robert G Hawkinson
HAWKINSON, ROBERT G., 72, of Lake Mary, FL passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Bob was a loving husband, wonderful father and a caring friend. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Mary Ellen; his son Brad, two daughters Kelly and Holly; sister Nancy and brother-in-law Don. He was a 1960 graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. He made many life long friends as a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Bob's smile and his quiet and gentle way will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Bob, retired as a Lt Col after 25 years in the Air Force. He flew the F-4 Phantom prior to and through the Vietnam era. He had a long and distinguished career. He enjoyed his second career as a Road Reporter for AAA traveling the roads all around our beautiful country. Once he officially retired, Bob, an avid golfer, devoted many hours trying to find the perfect golf course to play the perfect game!
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 7 at 5 p.m. at the Longwood Community Building, 200 West Warren Avenue, Longwood, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Robert Hawkinson's name to the Air Force Aid Society or a charity of your choosing.
