Dr. Richard B. Langer
Langer Richard B., died in Molokai, HI, on 9/11/04 at the age of 65 from
metastatic cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard & Louise
Langer and wife, Ruth. He is survived by his son, Franz; daughter- in-law,
Nida; grandchildren, Mia, Jaime and Nainoa of Molokai; brother & sister-in-law,
Leonard & Rollie Langer of Mpls & their daughters.
Dick grew up in Mpls, graduated from Carleton College and the University
of MN Medical School. In the early 60's, he served as a combat surgeon
in Vietnam, after which he and his family settled in Hawaii. Dick was
a devoted father and dedicated family physician to the people of Molokai
for over 30 years.
In retirement, he took great pleasure in developing and tending a large
tropical garden, doing floral arrangements for community events and particularly
for his church, where he was a devout member. A memorial service will
be held on Molokai.
