Charles Werly
Age 71 of Overland Park, Kansas
Passed away Sunday August 16, 2009. Chuck was born July 11, 1938 in Morristown, New Jersey to Emil and Polly Guerry Werly.
He graduated from Washburn High School, Minneapolis, Minnesota and the University of Illinois. Chuck was employed for 33 years by Walz Tetrick Advertising, retiring in 2005 as Senior Production Artist. He continued to work on a freelance basis after his retirement and his imprint on the agency’s history is indelible. He was an active member and volunteer at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Chuck is survived by one brother Bob Werly and wife Kathy of Overland Park, Kansas; and two nephews,
Fred Werly of Kansas City, Missouri and Eric Werly of Overland Park, Kansas.
The family would like to thank Manor Care, Specialty Hospital of Mid-America, and especially St.
Luke’s Cancer Institute for their efforts and care.
In life Chuck was gentle. In the face of death he was courageous.
Memorial donations in Chuck’s name may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 5325 Nieman Rd,
Shawnee, KS 66203.
Visitation and Memorial Services: A visitation will be held Friday August 21, 2009 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Shawnee from 1:00 pm to 2:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm.
