George Worthington Wirth
Age 62, died November 20, 2000 in Wm. Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI,
of cancer.
George was born September 11, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN. A twenty-four year
resident of Oakland County, Michigan, he was a self-employed manufacturer's
representative for industrial and agricultural fluid handling products.
He was the co-founder of two companies: J.F. Wirth & Sons and Precision
Fitting & Valve.
George attended Washburn High School and the University of Minnesota,
and was a member of Alpha Delta Phi fraternity and also a member of First
Presbyterian Church of Birmingham. He loved music and enjoyed playing
the piano. Other interests included photography.
Preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Marjorie Worthington Wirth and brother,
Jeffrey Frederick David Eric Wirth. Survived by his wife, Patricia; son,
Matthew C. Wirth; father, James Frederick Wirth; grandson, Ethan Wirth;
brothers, James T. Wirth of Alexandria, MN, and Steven E. Wirth of Bloomington,
MN.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, November 25 at the
First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham, MI, 1669 W. Maple Road. The committal
will be later in Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Family suggests tributes
be made payable to Wm. Beaumont Hospital (one of three oncology/cancer
funds) c/o Cancer Care Associates, 3577 West 13 Mile Road, Suite 404,
Royal Oak, MI 48073.
