Sylvia B. Bergstrom (Zwak)
Age 71, of Fridley, passed away October 21, 2009.
Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Sally. Survived by loving husband, John "Wally"; twin
sister, Sally (Neal) Johnson; sisters, Mary Ann Petersen and Berne (John) Carland; brother, Joe (Helen)
Zwak; son, Jeffrey Bergstrom; daughter, Kimberly Bergstrom; son-in-law, David Petermeier; many nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.
Sylvia was a remarkable person who befriended everyone she met through her gregarious
personality. She loved to talk and had a story for everyone. She and Wally loved to travel and
experience everything the world had to offer with their best friends, Mary and Larry Murphy.
Sylvia was a 1956 graduate of Washburn High School. She worked for American Family Insurance for
22 years. Sylvia was a 41-year member of AA who gained strength from so many people in the program,
as well as providing support to others. She was a 10-year breast cancer survivor. Sylvia sparkled
in life and our days will not be as bright without her. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday,
Oct. 24, 2009 at St. William's Catholic Church, 6120 NE 5th St., Fridley 55432 (763-571-5600).
Visitation in church Saturday one hour prior to Mass. Memorials preferred to Juvenile Diabetes
